Volunteen Plus is a new project which has been funded by the National Lottery and is run by East Riding Voluntary Action Services Ltd. The project aims to offer additional support to young people aged 13 to 18 who live in the North East of the East Riding, so they are able to take part in volunteering and social action.

To do this we are offering the following –

  • Volunteering drop-in sessions
  • Young Ambassador programme
  • WisER programme
  • Social Action opportunities

Outcomes for Young People

The project will increase the young person’s confidence, self-esteem, skills and knowledge.

The opportunities they take part in will be chosen especially to suit their interest, and will help them to develop as an individual, whilst meeting new people and taking part in new and enjoyable experiences. Volunteering will also provide crucial work experience and help with securing future employment.

Young Ambassadors

We are looking for young people to take part in our Young Ambassadors programme. These young people will be the voice of the Volunteen project.

This may interest young people who want to volunteer their time to help develop some new activities which will be delivered to other young people. This is a new exciting role and will provide young people with new skills to develop as people and build their CV.

As part of the Volunteen Plus project we will work with more vulnerable young people aged 13 to 18 on the WisER programme.

The Wise Up programme has already been running in Hull with the Humberside Police Early Intervention Team and we are looking to take this into the new Volunteen Plus areas. The programme looks at shaping the behaviours of young people and provides vital information about how they can stay safe by taking part in some fun activities.

Drop-In Sessions

We provide volunteering drop-in sessions within the Volunteen Plus area.

These sessions will provide young people with an opportunity to discuss their interests and for us to match them to a suitable volunteering opportunity, where we can also provide additional support when necessary.
