Are you in control?

These sessions are designed to provide trustees of VCS organisations in the East Riding of Yorkshire with a solid foundation in the knowledge and skills that they need to be effective in their role. Whether you are known as a Trustee, Director, member of the board, or represent a charity, association or CIC,  you are encouraged to attend. We also welcome paid senior staff such as managers to come along. If you haven’t attended anything like this previously, it is encouraged that you consider taking part in our ‘Guide to Governance’ courses that are available on our training website which aim to provide an overview of some of the essential information around being a trustee and running a VCS organisation. Please be aware that although this is a series of sessions, you can attend any session that you feel is relevant to you. The sessions available include the following:

• Is your board effective? – Friday 6 August
• Building confidence in your board – Friday 13 August
• Are you in control? – Friday 20 August
• Making meetings work – Friday 27 August
• Finance and reporting for VCS organisations – Friday 3 September

East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd and The Two Ridings Community Foundation, have partnered to deliver the Future Builders Project Supported by the East Riding of Yorkshire Future Communities Initiative (facilitated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council) and funded by RWE (via the Goole Fields Wind Farms Community Fund).
