Hi, East Riding (council for) Voluntary Youth Services - ERCVYS, in East Riding of Yorkshire is a project of ERVAS and aims to support the following voluntary and community youth sector (VCYS) groups in East Riding:
- Sports and Leisure groups
- Youth clubs and youth activitygroups
- Music, Arts and Drama groups
- Faith groups
- Uniformed groups
- Young Farmers Clubs
- Early years
- Health and Social Care agencies
The overall aim of ERCVYS is to develop a thriving and well established voluntary and community sector, which has the necessary skills and resources in order to effectively support children, young people and families living within the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The core objectives of ERCVYS are:
•· To build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector working with children and young people
•· To ensure that all voluntary and community youth groups are ‘fit for purpose', in that they have the correct policies and procedures in place when working with children and young people.
•· To develop effective working partnerships between the voluntary and community youth sector and those in the public and private sector, as well as to participate in strategic decision making.
•· To enable children and young people from the voluntary and community sector to participate in their communities, organisations, as well as local, regional and national decision making structures.
•· To support and develop the children's workforce within the private, voluntary and independent sector.
