efficient, and promoting quality. |

Charity Bank: A registered charity and not for profit bank
providing affordable finance for charitable work. |

Charity Finance Directors’ Association: Site of
membership organisation for people with anything to do with the finances of
their charity. Membership costs, and their information sheet is restricted to
members, but the site also contains funding news. |

Charities Information Bureau: This is a voluntary organisation, “supporting
voluntary organisations & community groups in funding their work”. They
provide lots of links and general information, and have an e-newsletter with
news about funds and funders, which costs £30. |

Charity Net: One of the websites run by the Charities Aid
Foundation. A dedicated charity information site designed to benefit anyone
with an interest in philanthropy, wherever they are in the world. |

Charity Times: Website of the Charity Times publication. |
|

Charity Vouchers: A Charity Advisory Trust initiative. People can
buy a token to send as a gift, and the recipient can have the donation
forwarded to the charity of cause of their choice. |

Community Accounting: The website of Community Plus Accounting. The
organisation is a charitable company that aims to promote good management in
voluntary organisations. Website includes fact-sheets and newsletters about
financial and staff management. |

Community Development Foundation: Website of the non-departmental
body supported by the Active Community Unit to research & promote
community development. Includes information about social inclusion,
regeneration, European issues etc. |

Companies House: The website of the registration body for companies
limited by guarantee. |

Directory of Social Change: “An independent voice for positive social change,
set up … to help voluntary and community organisations become more
effective”. Website offers online ordering of the DSC publications, news and
events including their training courses on fundraising. |

Unfortunately their database is not accessible online, but you can order
their software, and they have lots of links to funders. |

Foundation Centre Orpheus programme, to promote and underpin the work of
foundations and corporate funders in the New Europe. It includes news and
links to funders. |

The Giving Campaign: An independent national campaign supported by the
voluntary sector and the Government, to increase the amount of money given to
UK Charities. There are links on the site, news and free publications. |

GrantsOnline: This is an online directory and consultancy,
offering bid writing and training. It costs £150 to subscribe, with a £75
discount if your organisation has less than £100k. They also offer a fortnightly funding alert
for £50 a year. |

InKindDirect: A registered charity that acts as a clearing house
to pass on surplus goods and supplies at low cost from the corporate sector
to the voluntary and community sector. There’s an annual registration fee
starting at £88.13 (some subsidies apply so may be less) and you pay a
handling fee and for the goods you purchase. |

Inland Revenue: The Inland Revenue page dedicated to charities and
those wishing to give to charities tax effectively. |

funding. See especially their Sustainable Funding project, all about planning
and sustainability. |

ProFunding: They claim to be “The best most up to date funding
information service for not-for-profit organisations”. Subscribers get e-mail
alerts telling them of updates to news about funding, and there are plenty of

VolResource: Information about all kinds of issues relating to
volunteering and the voluntary sector. Fundraising information is limited,
but some useful links, and they do a free e-newsletter. |
